Team Bullett Records Continue!

Dale Gullett, Cliff's brother, ran the record breaking Yamaha Road Star Warrior on an open record in the 2000cc APS-PG class, and set a pending AMA record of 162.840. His down run was 165.402 and the return run against a headwind was 160.279. This record was set on August 31st, 2009.
on September 1st, 2009 Dale rode the bike in the 2000CC APS-PF class with a down run of 167.907 and a return of 171.149 for a pending record of 169.528, outrunning the record set in 2007 on a Harley-Davidson.
Then on Spetember 3rd, the anniversary of losing Cliff, he ran against his own pending record and set a new record at 171.504. His Down run was 172.140 and the return run was 170.869.
Team Bullett has much to be proud of, as his family remembered Cliff, on the Salt, at sunset on the last day of the meet, by placing flowers and raising a toast to the spirit that Cliff exuded and passed on to all he met.
This continuing setting of records by his brother, on his already record setting bike, is something all are proud of. It shows the technical ability and the determination of the group as a whole, and the courage of Cliff's brother, Dale, to ride the Warrior to yet another record.
The Team Bozeman family is looking forward to seeing the pictures of the BUB event and will get them posted to the site as soon as possible.
Team Bullett would like to continue to thank its primary sponsors : Team Bozeman Motorsports, V-Sept, Inc., the leader in on-line Customer Relationship Management, to James Vaughn, its President, for the continued Support of the Team Bullett Race Team, and of Team Bozeman Motorsports, to Bailey Masonry of Billings, Montana and to LeAnne Gullett for her continuing support of the Team Bullett Race Team. None of this could have happened without these great sponsors.

Team Bullett Well Represented at Speed Week 09!

Team Bullett and Cliff Gullett were well represented when his brother, Dale, and good friend, Nick Bilton, arrived at Bonneville, with Cliff's 03 Yamaha Road Warrior, which had already set numerous records and still holds several.... and Nick Bilton, on the Yamaha World Drag Record Display Bike, previously owned by Cliff Gullett and Team Bozeman and sold to Nick Bilton.
In the 2000cc MPS-PG class Dale Gullett made his rookie run on Saturday, August 8th at a speed of 139.982. and Nick Bilton running in the 2000cc PP-P class made his rookie run at 126.704.
Racing began in earnest on Sunday, August 9th, with numerous runs by both riders, and ending with top speeds for Dale Gullet of 144.557 and for Nick Bilton at 132.069. Tuning, sprocket changes, and other changes were made resulting in runs on Monday, the 10th, of 155.579 for Dale and 139.004 for Nick. Tuesday saw Dale run a 154.308 best, while Nick improved to 146.021. Wednesdays runs yielded a best 151.471 for Dale and 142.291 for Nick, and on Thursday Dale put the Fiberglass Partial Streamliner Body on the Warrior and ran a very competitive 165.878, while Nick ran a 145.237 best for the day. On Friday morning Dale rode to a great 168.974, getting close to the record run he will need.
The highlight of Speed Week for Team Bullett, was Wink Eller, riding his Harley Ultra, a bike which had already set 41 World Land Speed Records, now renamed "The Spirit of Cliff Gullett", and setting a record in the 3000CC - A-PF class of 164.280, breaking the old record of 143.688 by more than 20 MPH. That is the kind of spread Cliff loved, and that he achieved in setting many of his numerous records.
A special thanks from all at Team Bullett to Wink Eller for his long time friendship and the naming of his bike "The Spirit of Cliff Gullett" - We know he was riding with Wink, and it sure didn't slow them down!! Congratulations!!!

Cliff Gullett Killed at B.U.B. Event!

It is with the greatest regret that we announce that Cliff Gullett, rider of the Costella-Gullett Motorcycle Streamliner was killed yesterday afternoon at the Bonneville Salt Flats, after completing his return run. Cliff had two runs which qualified for the record in the 500 cc class, but the record will have to be ratified by the governing racing bodies for the event.
Cliff loved his experiences at Bonneville, and just a little over a week ago, set three World Land Speed Records, one of which broke a 50 year old record set in 1958.
Yesterday morning he expressed his excitement at the prospect of setting yet another record, and we are extremely hopeful that his runs will be ratified.
The Costella-Gullett Race Team, as well as the Sponsors; Team Bozeman Motorsports, V-Sept Sales & Service, K&T Performance, SCS Vinyl Works, Scorpion Helmets USA and Mountain PBE Supply, Inc., offers their most sincere sympathy and condolences to the entire Gullett Family, including his wife, Leanne, and his son, Casey, age 10 and his daughter, Nicole, age 15.
The family has established the Cliff Gullett Memorial Fund for distribution to Cliff's favorite charities. Memorials and contributions may be made to:
Cliff Gullett Memorial Fund
